On November 28, 2025, the Opening Ceremony of the 7th International Festival “Reflection of Disability in Art” took place at the University of Macedonia, with a large turnout despite adverse weather conditions. In the welcoming remarks, it was emphasized that disability is a human experience that enriches culture, while the Festival’s role as an institution of inclusion was highlighted.
The visual art exhibition “Down to Tenderness” by Sofia Pechlivanidou was presented, showcasing creativity and diversity within the University Library. The Festival Coordinator, Lefkothea Kartasidou, spoke about the effort behind an institution that relies exclusively on volunteer work.
The audience was also informed about the initiatives “The Ship of Wishes” and RED SPOTS. This was followed by the music performance “Greek Traditional Miniatures” by the Violione Orchestra, and the theatrical performance “THE GARDENERS,” which addressed issues of perfection, power, and social complicity.
The evening concluded with the INCLUSIVE OPEN BAR, in collaboration with Redditus, promoting connection and community engagement.
