Lego Oma is a micro-budget short documentary about Rita Ebel, a German grandma and wheelchair user. Rita is a few decades old - but who is counting? - loves to go water skiing and, generally, doesn’t step away from any athletic challenge. Since her car  accident, which caused paralysis from her waist down, she constantly had to find creative ways to continue doing the things she loves, whether that is sports or activities  taken for granted by non-disabled people. When she noticed most of the stores in her  hometown Hanau were inaccessible to her, she decided to make a statement by building  wheelchair ramps from Lego, each a unique piece of art. Her ramps are more than only  tools to overcome physical barriers; they also raise awareness for accessibility and start  conversations between different groups of people.

This documentary is intended to show the day- to-day struggles these dogs help their owners with and the reaction of the society. It also tries  to inform the viewers about the topic and prove why dogs really are “man’s best friends”.

The strong polarisation of the differences that characterize the two actresses is not a stumbling block to the realisation of a dream, to a shared wish to play together, but it is their strongest and most
adventurous motivation, the poetic embodiment of human life and the relationship between human beings.

We are Coletivo Humana Mente, a collective formed by students, teacher and sign  language interpreters from Cotia in São Paulo, Brazil. We meet every week to debate  themes related to the humanities and since 2013 we produce accessible art. Our first  audio-visual production was the translation of the poem Meditations on the word man (Especulações em torno da palavra homem) by the Brazilian poet Carlos Drummond  de Andrade. Now, 10 years after our first production the collective decided to remake our videopoem, this time highlighting Brazilian Sign Language even more. In the video  we have the participation of deaf students and interpreters, all fluent in Brazilian  Sign Language, but also of hearing students and teachers, who learned to sign the verses  of the poem making this an extremely valuable work for our school community.

Subtitles: English
Director: MgA. Ivan Crnac
Producer: MgA. Miloň Terč
Country: Czech Republic

The film takes us into the large Sedláček and Půlpán family, where the only hearing members are their children – CODA. In the 1980’s, the term CODA was coined for these children, which is an abbreviation for Children Of Deaf Adults – loosely translated from English as hearing children of deaf parents. The main protagonist is a sixteen-year-old hearing girl, Jolanka, who lives in the shared custody of her deaf parents. She is trying to find her place “in between” these two worlds. We follow her daily life full of challenges, obstacles and joys, whether she is in hearing or deaf world. “I am CODA” brings viewers a unique insight into the lives of family members from two different language cultures, a view of their communication in spoken and sign language. All of this leaves us with a deep awareness of the power of the human spirit and a desire to understand all those who share their worlds with us.
